WELCOME
Michelle and Staff welcomes you to Bike X Cape. Our passion for motorcycles, nature, open spaces and South African hospitality inspired us to share, with you, the amazing Tankwa Karoo from where you can access miles of gravel roads to the Cederberg, Sutherland,and Northern Cape.
Based in the Tankwa Karoo open space, a short 2½ hour drive from Cape Town, and a mere 10km from the legendary Tankwa Padstal, Bike X Cape offers various affordable accommodation options. For the adventurous book into one of our "semi-glamping" spacious tents complete with 100% cotton bedding and towels. If you prefer a bit more comfort, solid walls and your own bathroom, then one of our modestly furnished rooms in the traditional clay and latte cottages will be the answer to a call for relaxation.
Traversing vast open landscapes and remote locations for a day can leave one rather hungry and thirsty. Join us in the Bike X Cape boma under the galactic Karoo skies with lamb chops sizzling on an open fire. Cold drinks and Ice are always available.
You will experience personal attention to detail and our friendly staff are always available to lend a hand.
Traveling the Tankwa Karoo is the antidote for the city quandary, it moves the soul and brings the Universe into perspective. See the horizon, hear the silence, smell the fresh air, ride gravel roads through ancient landscapes, through desert, mountains and National Parks. Big 5 Safari
A definite must for any visitors to our region! Inverdoorn Game Reserve not only has the big five roaming freely but also has other amazing wild animals and birdlife. A safari drive, lunch and welcome drink is included in both Moonshine and Give me my space tour
Leisure Activities
The Cederberg and Tankwa Karoo offer vast landscapes for hiking, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets for the photographer, endless stars for the astronomer, or a cool down in a river, waterfall, or splash pool, during or after a long day of riding
South African large telescope
If Space is what you need, space is what you get. SALT is the largest telescope in the Southern Hemisphere and amongst the largest in the world. Day and night tours to view various telescopes including salt and observing objects in the night sky are offered to our " Give me my Space" visitors
Cultural Sites
The Cederberg mountain range, boasts more rock art paintings per square kilometer than anywhere else in South Africa. Two of the popular sites (Stadsaal caves and Truitjieskraal) are en-route of our Moonshine tour
Wineries Tour
A definite treat for all wine and beer lovers. Cederberg Winery uses natural spring water to irrigate their vines and brew their beer. Moonshiners will thoroughly enjoy this visit.
Natural Sites
Gorgeous Rock pools for cooling down and spectacular Waterfalls. Mountain passes, amazing flower covered valleys at the beginning of spring (August till October.)
